This morning it was announced by Stuart Ayres MP, Member for Penrith, that The Joan will receive a $500,000 funding injection with a ClubGRANTS allocation to upgrade audio-visual and theatre lighting.

We are absolutely stoked to receive this grant, which will enable us to improve our facilities and make the Centre an even better place for local performing arts companies, performers, schools and other creative groups to stage their peformances. From an audience point of view, better technical facilities make for better shows and a more enjoyable experience all round.

The upgrade will include replacement and revision of theatre lighting and audio-visual element, with energy efficient components, upgrade and diversification of rigs in our three main venues, installation of a data projector and screen in the Concert Hall, new monitors and better data cabling, and improved sound equipment.

The announcement comes in tandem with a $7.5 million commitment to support local artists across Western Sydney.
