studioQ courses run for 8 weeks each term, over 4 terms each year.

Each term is designed to build on the learning of the previous terms. Participants will be continually introduced to new skills, theatrical styles and performance approaches. The courses are designed as a full 8-week program: they are not drop-in courses, so ensure you have helped your young artist plan their term and their year ahead accordingly before booking.

At the end of each Semester participants have the opportunity to be part of a performance: in Term 2 our young artists present a free Show & Tell performance, sharing theatre exercises and activities they have been working on with their family and friends; and the Term 4 the studioQ End of Year Showcase provides an opportunity for each course to perform a short (~10 minute) piece based on the ideas and skills they have developed throughout the year, presented in the Q Theatre and on sale to the General Public.

Courses at The Joan includes: 2x Starting Out courses (ages 5-8), 2x Stepping Up courses (ages 9-12), 2x Ignite course (ages 13-15), 1x Accelerate course (ages 16-18) and Access Ensemble courses (2x Friday morning Adults courses and 1 x Friday afternoon Teens course).

We consider running additional courses from time to time, if considerable interest is received during the booking period.
