Chalk About

This acclaimed international touring production will provoke students to contemplate their own identity through dance, movement, voice and the visual arts.

CHALK ABOUT

YEARS 3-5 – TERM 2 – JUNE

A Curious Seed production, originally created by Christine Devaney and Leandro Kees (Performing Group, DE).

“Brave, honest and delightful … full of a rich sense of the joy of human difference” The Scotsman

Chalk About is a playful, funny and sometimes moving look at how we see ourselves and others, featuring dance, chat and one scene containing everything you could wish for.

Join Christine and Hendrik on their journey as they ask some BIG questions about identity and the meaning of life. What makes us who we are? Is it where we are from? Is it the way we dance? Our pasts or our future? And, most importantly, why does everyone like pizza?

This acclaimed international touring production will provoke students to contemplate their own identity through dance, movement, voice and the visual arts.

From the Schools Coordinator: The show begins by asking kids and young people what they do and don’t want to see at the theatre, and the result is a wonderfully honest and joyful performance that celebrates difference and uniqueness. Chalk About tackles big questions about identity and self-worth and might just help your students understand more about themselves and how they perceive others. This fun mix of dance and physical theatre is perfect for anyone who has ever wondered: “what makes me who I am?”
