Flannofest: The Tower

The Q’s much sought after education project is back taller than ever in 2017!

“A complete experience of theatre making in a professional environment.”
– Cindy Pecovnik, Blue Mountains Grammar

Flannofest gives high school drama students the opportunity to explore different theatrical styles, and work with industry professionals including writers, directors, actors and technicians, as together they create an original performance 8-12 minutes in length.

The Tower brings together eight schools from across Western Sydney and pairs them with eight professional theatre artists. Their job? To build a tower bigger and better than any other that has been built before. It seemed like a good idea when it was approved but as building commences subtle differences become enormous problems. Chaos, calamity and moments of calm circle around the building site as over 100 young artists each try and have their say and shape The Tower as best they can!
