Young artists will learn how to make props, then develop ideas into stories for the stage over two fun-filled days!

Course Description:

Young artists aged 8-12 will be exploring two distinct facets of theatre each day:

Participants will be encouraged to choose 1 or 2 props to construct applying practical construction techniques based on the materials and criteria provided. Activities will include creative discussion, examining challenges and time constraints, and the reasoning behind the practical application. Skills exploration includes problem solving processes, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Storytelling with Props Workshop with teaching artist Emilia Stubbs-Grigoriou, the young artists take the Prop-making ideas and items created and develop scenes and characters around using these properties. Working through improvisation and play building activities based around properties, they will also build on their theatrical skills by looking at the division of the stage in terms of storytelling, status and sight lines.
