We Remember

A tribute to the ANZACs - Toni Stevens, The Starr Sisters, Chris Gable & John Pickworth Orchestra

This April we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing and just three days before ANZAC Day The Joan pays tribute with We Remember, featuring some of the most popular music from WW1 and WW2 presented by Toni Stevens, The Starr Sisters, Chris Gable and The John Pickworth Orchestra.

Together they will lead you through old wartime songs and hits from the big band era. Expect to hear favourites such as Pack Up Your Troubles, It’s a Long Way to Tipperary, The Road to Gundagai, Snowy River, The Dog on The Tucker Box and the wonderful songs of Vera Lynn, including The White Cliffs of Dover and We’ll Meet Again.

You’ll also be transported back to the era of the Andrews Sisters, and their classics Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Don’t Sit under the Apple Tree and I’ll Be with You in Apple Blossom Time. The clarinet and saxophone will come into play with big band hits including Little Brown Jug, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Strangers On The Shore and As Time Goes By and the orchestra will bring a big, bold and brassy backing, while also playing their own arrangements of March Of The Bob Cats and Colonel Bogey March.

All tickets are $20 and include a delicious morning tea served from 10am.

All performances begin at 11am and conclude around 12.30pm.

All seats are allocated.
