Sydney Dance Company & The Joan Spring Holiday Dance Workshops

TO BOOK:

Step 2   Complete an enrolment form by selecting the red button above (note – an enrolment form must be completed for all individual participants i.e. siblings details cannot go on the same form). 

Offering a variety of different dance styles for boys and girls 8-16 years, Sydney Dance Company & The Joan School Holiday Workshops provide a fun environment for young people to develop their technique and learn new routines, ranging from beginner to more experienced levels.

This Spring we are offering the following two-day workshops for 8-11 year olds and 12-16 year olds (please note there is no single-day option):

Ages 8-11 years (elementary)

Contemporary, Lyrical, JFH and Jazz

Dates: Thursday 28 & Friday 29 September, 10am to 4pm (9.30am arrival on Day 1 for registration)

Fee: $165

Ages 12-16 years (intermediate)

Contemporary, Lyrical, JFH and Jazz

Dates: Tuesday 3 & Wednesday 4 October, 10am to 4pm (9.30am arrival on Day 1 for registration)

Fee: $165

All participants must complete and online enrolment form as linked above.

Teachers

Eli Crawford has come a long way since starting out at the age of 16. After completing a full-time musical theatre course, at the Australian Dance Performance Institute Brisbane campus in 2007, Eli made the move down to Sydney. Whilst in Sydney he spent 2008 studying full-time performing arts at Brent Street Studios. Since then, Eli has been working consistently as a commercial dancer in Sydney. He has performed with a wide array of music artists such as Duffy on SYTYCD, Kylie Minogue on Hey Hey it’s Saturday and also with Ke$ha on X Factor Australia. Eli has performed in live stage shows with Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Cassie Davis, Tina Arena, Guy Sebastian, Paulini, David Campbell and many more. He is also a regular dancer on the Sydney Showboat based on King St Wharf and a dancer for Sydney Dance Company corporate events including the ANZ Bank Xmas Party, American Express Festival of Potential, George Jensen Jewellery for Australias Fashion Night Out & Allens Arthur Robinson Graduate Party.

Kate Grima-Farrell is an independent artist currently based in Sydney, working as one of Sydney Dance Company’s Teaching Artists.  Kate graduated from the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Dance. During her time there she was awarded an International Student Exchange Grant, allowing her to spend six months continuing her dance studies overseas at the State University of New York – Purchase College, NY. She was also the recipient of numerous Academic Excellence Awards and was featured for her Choreography in WAAPA’s 2015 Student Work’s Season. Prior to her full-time training, Kate was a former member of the Australian Ballet Company’s Interstate Junior Program. Since 2013, Kate has performed in original works by Sue Healey, Israel-based Oded Ronen, Sue Peacock, Kynan Hughes and New York-based MADboots Dance Company. She has toured to Singapore and the United States, as well as nationally throughout her dance career.
